Creation Day 6: Animals and Creeping Things

24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:24-25, NKJV

Creation Day 6: Animals and Creeping Things

On the sixth day of creation, God created cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth. Each was created according to its kind. Again we must note that each was created according to its kind. One type of living creature did not evolve into another kind, but rather, each was created distinctly different and reproduced according to its kind.

In the book of Job, God, Himself, comments on His own creation of the beasts of the earth.

“Can you hunt the prey for the lion,
Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
40 When they crouch in their dens,
Or lurk in their lairs to lie in wait?

41 Who provides food for the raven,
When its young ones cry to God,
And wander about for lack of food?

“Do you know the time when the wild mountain goats bear young?
Or can you mark when the deer gives birth?
“Who set the wild donkey free?

Who loosed the bonds of the onager,
Whose home I have made the wilderness,
And the barren land his dwelling?

“Will the wild ox be willing to serve you?
Will he bed by your manger?

10 Can you bind the wild ox in the furrow with ropes?
Or will he plow the valleys behind you?

“The wings of the ostrich wave proudly,
But are her wings and pinions like the kindly stork’s?

“Have you given the horse strength?
Have you clothed his neck with thunder?

“Does the hawk fly by your wisdom,
And spread its wings toward the south?

27 Does the eagle mount up at your command,
And make its nest on high?

(From Job 38 and 39, NKJV)

The point God is making as he confronts the self-righteousness of Job is this. Not only has He created all of these creatures (on the sixth day of creation), but to this day He cares for them. God hears their cry for food and provides sustenance for them.

What an amazing God we serve. He created all of these things, but did not walk away from His mighty creation. Instead, He sustains this earth, day after day, until He declares that time shall be no more.

Let us go this day, in the strength and power of the Lord. And, remember that even when your cat or dog cry to you for food, they are actually crying out to God Himself. God answers them by moving you to give them their food and provide for their daily needs.

What an awesome God we serve.

God Bless You,
Linda
