Bow Thy Heavens!

 5Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.
 6Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.
 7Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;
 8Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
(Psalm 144:5-8, King James Version)

Bow Thy Heavens!

Have we ever thought about what a condescension it is that God actually comes down to us and works and moves on our behalves. How well the Psalmist expressed it: Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down. No wonder the mountains smoke and lightning flashes at the appearance of God. Think about it; this God is our God!

As children of God we have every right and opportunity to cry out to Him in times of trouble. Our God is not an idol made out of wood, stone, or metal. Our God lives and moves on behalf of His children--and how dear His children are to Him. They have been bought by the precious blood of His own dear Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Do not be afraid to call upon God, for truly He hears the voices of His children. Expect Him to work on your behalf. Though you may not see Him, yet you may rest confidently in His care over you. How amazing is that?

The people of the world have no such hope or comfort. Who is there to hear their cry for help? Let us have a heart for the ungodly, praying that God would open their eyes so that they can say with us, "Once I was blind, but now I see." Please understand that no man has the power to reach up to God; it is God who grants that power to him or her by opening their eyes.

Let us continue to pray: "Bow Thy heavens; reach down to this earth and save us!" May we walk in the same confidence as did David who wrote these words literally thousands of years ago. This same David now sits in heaven, awaiting the time of the end of all things. Think of the wonderful times of fellowship we will have with David, Moses, Abraham, Paul, Timothy, Peter, and most of all, with the Lord Jesus Christ.

This is our future; this is our hope. Not only will God bow the heavens on our behalf while we are here on this earth, but the day will come when He will bow the heavens and bring us into His eternal courts. Oh what a blessed day that will be!

God Bless You,
Linda
