4Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
5Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.
6With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King.
Something for Everyone!
As I was reading through these verses this morning, I thought, there is something for everyone here. No one can say, "I cannot praise the Lord because I cannot sing." One does not need to sing; look at all of the ways we are encouraged to praise the Lord just in these three verses from Psalm 98.
* Make a joyful noise
* Make a loud noise
* Sing praise
* Sing unto the Lord
* With the harp
* With the voice of a psalm
* With trumpets
* With the sound of cornet
Can you imagine what heaven will be like? We from this earth will come with our mumblings and noises of praise, but we will be drowned out by the beautiful chorus of angels and all other creatures, many of whom we will not recognize. What a time of praise and adoration that will be!
When time ceases, and the new heavens and earth have been created, when the land in which we live is no longer under the curse of sin, what a magnificent day that will be. We simply cannot think of enough adjectives to describe it, can we?
What stories we will have to share; what times we will have listening to the saints of former years. Who would you choose to talk to first? Moses? Joseph? Peter? Calvin? Mary? Hannah? Luther? Abraham Lincoln? The list is endless, is it not?
Sometimes I think we need to just sit down and think about heaven and get our mind off the troubles of this world. It is good for us to look ahead and remember that this is not really our home. We are only passing through.
So, take some time today to just praise the Lord--in whatever manner you choose. For there is truly something for everyone!
God Bless You,
