Most High!

8But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore.
9For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

Most High!

But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore. What does that mean to us? The Lord, our Lord, is the Most High, right now and forever more! It is easy to read right over that without contemplating its meaning and its significance for the Christian.

First, we must recognize that, though Psalm 92:8 is true, it certainly does not seem to be recognized by many in this modern day world in which we live. There are very few places where God is acknowledged as the Most High.

As we look around at the world in which we live, what do people view as the most important thing in their lives? Probably right at the top of the list would be money, fame, and fortune, but certainly not God. Now, the question that really makes us uncomfortable is, what is the most important thing in the lives of most Christians today?

How many would say, God? To give any other answer would beg the question, on what do they base their Christianity? Perhaps it would be better to ask, what does it mean to be a Christian in today's world?

For the true saint of God, there is no other answer than that given above. The Lord God Almighty is the Most High, and therefore the most important thing for the Christian is God. Nothing we could ever hope to obtain or become is greater that our God who created all things, and through whom all things consist. It is is Christ we live and move and have our being.

It really does not matter what the attitudes are of the people of this world. They are here for a time, but apart from God all of His enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. As Christians, then, let us not be influenced by the attitudes of this world, for this is not our final home. We are here for a time, but we will be in our eternal home forever.

It is time that Christians shake off the blanket of worldliness that is smothering God's people today, and raise their voices in praise to the Lord God Almighty who is the Most High, now and for evermore!

God Bless You,
