Give unto the Lord

1Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.
2Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

Give unto the Lord

What do we owe the Lord? We owe everything to the Lord! Everything we are and everything we ever hope to be, belongs to the Lord; all of the good we have ever done or ever will do is a result of His grace and goodness to us.

How different would our lives be if we began every day with that thought? How much pain and grief could we avoid if we actually took time at the start of each day meditating upon God's goodness to us, and praising and glorifying His holy name?

Why every day? Is it not enough to praise and worship God on the Lord's Day? Like children, we are prone to forget, as the duties of this life surmount everything else. As a matter of fact, we tend to wake up in the morning feeling the pressing needs of the day upon us before we even step out of bed.

Yet, we are called to give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name, and to worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Who is this Lord that He should demand so much? He is God; by Him do all things exist. He holds the key to everything that has and will happen from eternity past, to the present, and to the days to come until this world ceases to exist.

Yes, let us give unto the Lord the honor and glory that He alone rightly commands. Let us look to Him for all of the needs of this day as well as the needs of all of the days to come, and let us worship Him in the beauty of holiness!

God Bless You,
Linda
