Secret of the Lord

12What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
13His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
15Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

Secret of the Lord

Psalm 25 presents the most secretive secret in the whole world! In a world filled with glamor, riches, power, and seemingly unlimited possibilities for success, who does not want to know the secret to success? Yet, the truth is, everyone is looking in the wrong place. Everyone is chasing after the world, when the only true success lies in the hand of God.

Can the answer really be that simple? Yes! Now, it is true that the Christian has a totally different view of what it means to be successful, but the answer to finding that success is really quite simple. We will never find true success, joy, happiness, or contentment in this world. Unfortunately, this world is filled with everything but that! Can selfish and sinful men really find any kind of true peace, joy, or contentment from anything this world has to offer?

Now, intellectually we know that these things are true, yet Christians are often just as busy as those in the world seeking after fame, fortune, happiness, and success in the things the world has to offer. Will we never learn?

In the end, David had it all! He was the king; he was both rich and powerful. Yet, his own advice proclaimed that any joy and peace that he really had was found in the Lord. Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net. He was not afraid to admit, the secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

Many times, we Christians can be some of the most miserable and unhappy people around. Do you think it could have anything to do with the fact that, as Christians, we cannot possible find true joy in the things of this earth? We have a new heart, given to us by the Lord, that yearns after God. Let us, by the grace of God, seek after the secret of the Lord, where true joy, peace, and contentment can be ours for all eternity.

How amazing is that?

God Bless You,
Linda
