Complete in Him!

4
Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. 5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
Colossians 2:4-10, New King James Version

Complete in Him

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

What do you believe? Are you torn by all of the religions and philosophies of this world floating around you? When you think of the millions of people in this world, do you ever wonder how you could possibly be right in your beliefs and so many be wrong? Did you know that the devil is the great deceiver? Look at the warning Paul gives us in his letter to the Corinthian church.

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15, New King James Version

How can we avoid being entangled in such a deceptive web?

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

Develop a close relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ by reading His Word daily and spending time with him in prayer and fellowship. Do not be caught up in the thinking that only those who have received a Doctor of Divinity degree can understand God's Holy Word. Do not be afraid to compare everything your pastor preaches with the Word of God. Your life depends on it!

That is exactly what Paul is speaking of in verse 8 of Colossians 2.

Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

As a child of God you are complete in Him; the Holy Spirit within you guides you into the light of the truth.

For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

Complete in Him! Oh what a Savior we have! He saves us through His shed blood on the cross, teaches us in the way we should go, and keeps us from the hands of the great deceiver. Yes, we are complete in Him, and in Him, alone!

God Bless You,
Linda
