A Child is Born

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6, English Standard Version

A Child is Born

No more beautiful words have been spoken! Isaiah expresses joy for the people due to the birth of this Child, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Read some of the acclamations Isaiah made in Isaiah 9.

2 The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light.
3 You have multiplied the nation; you have increased its joy.

Then, read again the verse shown above.

The government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

How is this made possible? Isaiah 9:7b tells us: The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.

Through the Bible, we have seen a great light and our joy has increased. As a matter of fact, I do not believe a person understands the meaning of true joy apart from Christ.

Examine your life today. What do you see? No matter what your day brings, pray that God will help you to understand and acknowledge that Christ is All. Your life is but a vapor that is just dust and straw, except for the things you have done for Christ.

As we see unrest in the Mideast, and financial woes around the world, let us not be consumed with worry. Christ is our Mighty God, our Everlasting Father, and our Prince of Peace. We cannot help but feel that the end of time is very near--even at the gate. Let us, instead, be filled with peace and zeal for the Lord, and let our prayer to Him be, "Lord, what can I do for you this day?"

A Child is Born!

Now we are able to say, "A Child was born, and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father, making intercession for His people." How amazing is that?

As Christ's coming fulfilled many Old Testament prophecies, let us understand that all of the prophecies concerning the end times will be fulfilled as well, exactly as prophesied.

Even so come quickly, Lord Jesus!

God Bless You,
Linda
