11 Thine, O LORD is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.

While this passage is really a blessing that David pronounced to the Lord, rather than a benediction, its message is so encouraging that I decided to include it in my series of Bible benedictions.
David never tired of blessing the Lord, not only in the Psalms, but throughout the historical books as well. We live in such a "me" centered culture that it is good for us to reflect again and again the truth of our victory in Christ. There is no room for a single, "me" in our lives; all glory goes to the Lord our God who is exalted as head above all.
Look at the attributes of God that David included in this blessing. Thine, O Lord, is the:
Who else could receive such acclaim? No one!
In this time of uncertainty, when we see the effects of a failing economy all around us, let us remember the God we serve. Are these difficulties too great for our God? Does He suffer when the economy suffers? Of course not!
Take some time today to meditate on this blessing given by David. What an amazing God we serve. He is able to deliver us from all evil.
